Site FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q. This site is called My Karma Wheel. Are you a Buddhist?

A. No.

Q. Why is this site called My Karma Wheel?

A. I’ve enjoyed writing reviews at Amazon.com since 2006. When my husband asked me why I was bothering to take the time to write reviews, I told him I was just tending my Karma Wheel.

Q. So what does THAT mean?

A. Just Giving Back. I’ve benefited from other people’s Amazon Reviews for MANY years, learning what was good, bad, and ugly about things I was considering buying. Thanks to the insights of those Reviewers, I’ve saved a lot of money and a lot of frustration. And I’ve learned a lot from other Reviewers. So I write my own Reviews, just to keep the good vibes going.

Q. That sounds stupid.

A. I’ve heard that before : )

Q. So, are you just going to post Reviews here?

A. No.

Q. What ARE you going to post?

A. You’ll see. Basically, I’m just having fun, writing what I want to write about, and hoping that SOME of the information here proves to be interesting or valuable to whoever needs it. It’s that simple. I don’t “track” my followers and unless you decide to “follow me” on Twitter, I’m not even aware you’ve been here.

Q. Why don’t you identify yourself here?

A. I’m just experimenting with a simple Personal Firewall between my Amazon Reviewing Identity and my Real-World Identity. Trying to just bridge that digital gap in a fun way, where I can still participate in the things I love while keeping the “Business” part of my life separate.

Q. Do you have a link to your Amazon Profile posted here?

A. No. Not at the present time. Presently, there’s just a link to this site FROM my Amazon Profile. That may change in the future. But for now, it’s a one-way trip.

Q. What’s Your Amazon Reviewer Rank?

A. I’m Somewhere in the Top 500.

Q. I’m an author. Will you review my book?

A. It depends. I don’t review fiction. I actually don’t even like to receive “free” copies. But if you have a professionally edited, non-fiction tech, medical, or business-oriented book, I MIGHT consider reviewing it. I do not accept payment or fees for reviews. Generally speaking, it has to be something well-written, thoroughly researched, and footnoted or end-noted to capture my interest. If you think your book might fit those requirements, you are welcome to email details to me at editor@mykarmawheel.com.

I do respond to all email inquiries sent to that address EXCEPT for these: 1. Offers for free products (no, thank you) OR 2. Mass-addressed emails.
